Centennial Celebration
About Centennial Celebration
Youngstown Business & Professional Women’s Organization was recognized for 100 years during its Centennial Celebration during National Business Women’s Week®. On Tuesday, October 20, 2020, the event was held at The Lake Club in Poland, Ohio.
We are proud to be recognized as one of the first locals of the Ohio Federation of Business & Professional Women’s Club. For 100 years, YBPW has been the premier organization for professional women who want to network, grow their businesses, and encourage a brighter future in business and pay equity for the next generation of women.
“Women have come a long way in terms of professional development and pay equity in the last 100 years. However, the fact that very few women lead fortune 500 companies and that pay equity is still a real issue means our work needs to continue both at the local and state levels, as well as nationally,” states Rebecca Davis, YBPW President.
The Centennial Celebration included opportunities to generate proceeds that benefited the Dr. Anne McMahon Scholarship Award, awarded annually to a deserving female student furthering her education at Youngstown State University. Proceeds were allocated to establish the 2nd scholarship in honor of the club’s 100th anniversary.
